about
Single release from up-coming album "Climb a Tree"
so they’re leaning against the car and it’s late, dark but not very dark, it feels like summer, but it feels like summer is dying, and you can taste the passage of time on the air, it’s a bitter taste, it’s very bitter but hard to quit, and they’re leaning against the car, and they’re about twenty feet in altitude above the playground, leaning against the car, and they’re smoking cigarettes not for the bitter aging taste but because it’s fun to light matches, and sounds from the playground drift up the cliff face so that they can hear the kids playing and she says “i had a babysitting job i had to cancel for this” and he, leaning against the car, says “sorry about that but i’m glad you came” and she says “no i wanted to come, but i miss those kids, i really love kids” and he doesn’t really say anything and she says “don’t you like kids?” and he says “yeah, i like kids” and then she doesn’t really say anything while they lean against the car and it’s getting darker and summer is stepping up to the gallows now and they’re lighting matches and smoking cigarettes and they are leaning against the car
